Who we are and why we make furniture
Deska i Dłuto is a two-person carpentry workshop in Poznań's Wilda district. It started in 2012 with a simple idea: furniture should be beautiful, comfortable and survive house moves, children and dogs.
The story of the workshop
It started in 2012 with a garage and one planer. Tomasz, after ten years in a large furniture factory, wanted to make things he could sign with his own name. The first jobs were restorations: chairs, tables and dressers from classified ads.
In 2016 Anna, a designer, joined the workshop and since then we have focused on custom furniture. We moved to a former workshop hall on Rzemieślnicza Street, where we have room for a drying kiln, a spray booth and a timber store.
Today we have more than 400 completed projects in Poznań and the surrounding area. We are still just the two of us, because that way we can personally answer for every board.
What matters to us
Solid wood
Oak, ash, walnut and beech from Polish sawmills, seasoned and kiln-dried on site.
Honest deadlines
We give a realistic date and stick to it. If something slips, we call first.
Hand finishing
Edges, sanding and oiling are done by hand. The machine cuts, a person finishes.

Two people, one workshop
Tomasz Olejniczak
Master carpenter, founder
A carpenter since 2001. Responsible for construction, woodworking and installation. He likes restorations best, because every old piece has a puzzle to solve.
Anna Wiśniewska
Furniture and interior designer
A graduate in interior architecture. She designs, measures and makes sure the furniture fits the whole flat, not just the wall it stands against.
Where we work
Our workshop is in Poznań's Wilda district, in a former 240 m² workshop hall. You can visit us Monday to Friday to see wood and finish samples in person. Please call ahead, as we are often out on installations.
